If you are about to get your braces on, you probably want to be as prepared as possible. There are a variety of foods you need to avoid when wearing braces. The last thing you want to do is damage a wire or bracket or get food stuck in your brackets that isn’t easy to brush away. We’ve put together an easy-to-follow guide:
Keep in mind that some of these foods you don’t need to avoid completely! For example, we want you to enjoy vegetables. You just need to be careful with how you enjoy them. Carrots should be cooked instead of eaten raw, otherwise you can damage your enamel. Others, such as candies and popcorn, need to be avoided for the duration of wearing braces.
